Copenhagen

Three days in a city that treats restraint as the highest form of luxury.

There is a particular confidence to a place that refuses to try too hard. Copenhagen does not perform for you. It simply assumes you already know what good feels like.

01

Where to stay

A room with nothing to prove

The best hotels here understand that luxury is mostly editing. Pale oak, linen the color of weak tea, a single ceramic on the sill that someone chose and no one will explain.

Ask for a room facing the courtyard. The quiet is the amenity.

Where to eat

Lunch is the meal that matters

Forget the tasting menus for a day. The real education is an open sandwich eaten standing up: rye, butter you can taste, one perfect thing on top.

Order the second one before you think you want it. You will.
